Lewis Names Lee Stalker As New Outside Linebackers Coach

                                            <p>KENT, OHIO- Kent State football, under the direction of head coach <a href="https://kentstatesports.com/coaches.aspx?rc=644">Sean Lewis</a>, is excited to announce the hiring of <a href="https://kentstatesports.com/staff.aspx?staff=441">Lee Stalker</a> as outside linebackers coach.</p>  <p>Stalker comes back to Kent State where he was a three-year letter winner and two-year starter for the Golden Flashes from 2007-2011. He was voted team captain for his 2011 season and was nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, given annually to the best college football player who started his career as a walk-on.</p>  <p>"We are thrilled to be bringing former Kent State captain <a href="https://kentstatesports.com/staff.aspx?staff=441">Lee Stalker</a> back home to northeast Ohio with his wife Tricia and daugter Kaia," Lewis said. "Lee is an excellent leader and tremendous teacher that we are excited to have be a part of our FlashFAST family. I know that he is going to invest in our young men at an elite level and will take this opportunity to do the work required to elevate our program to new heights."</p>  <p>He rejoins the Flashes after serving as the defensive coordinator for Division-II power Valdosta State. In 2019, Valdosta State's defense was ranked atop the Gulf South Conference, helping the Blazers to an undefeated conference season and a berth in the NCAA playoffs.</p>  <p>Stalker's defense allowed just 18 points per game and was ranked top-20 nationally in yards per game, third down conversions and red zone scoring.</p>  <p>Prior to his success at Valdosta State, Stalker spent five seasons at Tiffin University in Ohio, serving as defensive line coach and special teams coordinator. He helped rebuild the Dragon's defense, leading them to a top-10 ranking in tackles for loss and a top-20 mark in sacks. He got his coaching start in the high school ranks, working at his alma mater Butler High School in Butler, Pennsylvania.</p>  <p><br />Lee and his wife Tricia have a daughter, Kaia and son, Tatum.  <br /> </p>
