South’s Oldest Rivalry kicks off ACC Football’s six-week YouTube series

The ACC is kicking off a six-week series on YouTube, showcasing some of the league’s most memorable historic games. The action starts tonight with George Welsh’s No. 9 Virginia Cavaliers (5-0) traveling to Chapel Hill to take on the unranked North Carolina Tar Heels, coached by Mack Brown.

Spoiler alert: Virginia would ultimately fall in that game, 22-17. The season 1995 season would be redeemed by an historic win over then-No. 2 Florida State Seminoles, delivering their first-ever conference loss since the Noles joined the ACC in 1992.

The YouTube series will continue again tomorrow night with the South’s Oldest Rivalry, turning the tables as No. 24 Virginia (6-3) took down No. 6 North Carolina (8-1) the following season in Charlottesville, 20-17 highlighted by Antwan Harris’s 100-yard interception late in the game.

Four other UVA games will be highlighted over the coming weeks:

  • May 22: Pitt at No. 25 UVA (2018)
  • May 26: No. 14 Georgia tech at No. 1 UVA (1990)
  • June 4: Virginia at Louisville (2019)
  • June 16: Florida State at No. 25 UVA (2019)

Each of the tames will be shown as a premiere on YouTube and will be available as an archived element after the broadcast. Each game will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the ACC’s YouTube channel. Here’s the full schedule:
